Pediatric Nurse Practitioners are health care providers who have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing and two to three years advanced training in pediatrics. Pediatric Nurse Practitioners have a Master’s Degree in child health.  Our PNPs are Missy Nicholson and Leigh Gistinger.

Physician Assistants are licensed health care professionals who typically have a 4 year undergraduate degree before entering into a physician assistant program associated with a medical school.  They have a masters degree as a physician assistant after attending 2.5 years of both classroom and hand-on clinicial training in both outpatient and inpatient settings.  Sarah Oliveri is our physician assistant.

A PNP/PA are qualified to perform a majority of general pediatric duties. PNP/PA are trained to obtain health histories, perform physical examinations, order and interpret lab and diagnostic studies, diagnose health problems and develop treatment plans. Providing health education and counseling on an array of childhood issues is also an integral part of a PNP/PA's role. PNP/PA's in Texas work in collaboration with physicians and other health care professionals to provide optimal care for your child.
